My Sisters Keeper & The Boy In Striped Pyjamas

Siddy Friday, 24 September 2010
These are the two films i will be trying to find out to get the jist of the genre i have chosen which would be most likely classed as a 'true story' drama as it involves real life challenges that people face each day from diseases that they may be unlucky to have. Our trailer has to give of the emotions that we will try and put accross very effectively and make people feel for the actor in the short time we are allocated.

Boy in striped Pyjamas

The boy in striped pyjamas from the start of the trailer seems to show a happy boy that has a family around him and an upperclass party, and the children having fun how ever once a steam engine appears it seems to get darker then usual which could mean evil or danger, the boy arriving at the house seems to find a prison only that to see he is on the outside which gives a different perspective. He then begins to converse with the prisoner of there finding how they are so similar but on different sides of the war as enemies, the prison walls could also show this deviding line between the two also the clothes that each of them are wearing, one a set of striped pyjamas and the other a smartly dressed boy. The trailer then moves into a faster pace and shows various different shots, the conflict between the wife and husband show how the film may be similar, and although you do not know what happens in the two boys have seemed to grow closer from the emotions and facial expresions shown.

My Sisters Keeper

The trailer begins with a playful child in the background, and laughing showing a form of happiness and the voice over narrating the story, from how the actions are being shown with over the top jumping, smiles, laughter and a kiss it just gives of a sense of a good family film from this part as they are all joyful, the girl makes fun of the fact she cancer which shows no fear, and that a sister will go to any lengths to save a life as she wishes to go against her parents showing how powerful she is being portrayed.

The trailer begins with two old men recieving bad news while they are in a hospital bed this scene would be normally a sadder scene but elements of comedy are used killing the original mood that would be created, even though they don't know each other they still converse as if they were old friends, about 'the bucket list'. The trailer then begins to show some skydiving and from their facial expresions you can see they are happy, how ever going through a bad time.

The reason that i have chose these trailers is because they are similar to each other, each story has the emotional aspects on how we want to create our media piece this will be hard as these are successful films how ever if we try to follow in their footsteps we may come out with a good teaser trailer.
